Out of the mouths of little boys...

You know those cute plaid shorts you see everywhere? Even in the little boys' department at the department stores? Well, apparently those are for the benefits of the mothers, not the boys so much. My two older ones were not impressed when I pulled out new plaid shorts for church. (I never get this grief from the 2-year-old.) These are the same two who complain constantly about having to wear a uniform to school. The first question - "Do we have to wear these?"

Me - "Yes."

The 8-year-old, realizing arguing was futile - "Well at least we aren't allowed to wear them to school."

Thank God for school rules that save them from their fashionista mommas.

Oh wait - there's one more.

This morning -

Me - "Be sure and put on deodorant."

Kid - "Why do I have to use that?"

Me - "So you won't smell bad."

Kid - "But I don't care if I smell bad."

You need to know...their opinions don't change much as they grow up.
